Marvin Bileck was an artist, educator, and a designer and illustrator of children’s books. He was awarded a Caldecott Honor for Rain Makes Applesauce. Marvin Bileck, Professor Emeritus of Queens College, New York, was a master printmaker whose work has been described by critics and art historians as comparable to such artists as Holbein and Rembrandt. The illustrations for By Trolley Past Thimbledon Bridge have been gifted to the Pierpont Morgan Library in NYC.
